As Casas de Alice Munro

The Faculty of Letters and the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies (ULICES) invite you to “As casas de Alice Munro”, a tribute to the Canadian Nobel laureate writer, which will take place at the Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon, Theatre I, on Monday, 9 December, from 4 p.m. till 6.00 p.m.

“As casas de Alice Munro” will consist of a roundtable (in Portuguese) and a bilingual reading of excerpts from Munro’s work. The roundtable will be chaired by Prof. Marijke Boucherie (ULICES) and guest speakers include Prof. Laura Bulger (Centro de Estudos em Letras), Francisco Vale (Munro’s Portuguese publisher), José Mário Silva (literary critic), and Sara Henriques (ULICES). The roundtable will be followed by a reading of excerpts from Alice Munro’s short stories in English and in Portuguese translation.
