Abstract: This course will offer: (Module 1) an overview of bibliographical sources currently at the disposal of translation scholars doing research on the history of translation practice, mainly in Portugal; (Module 2) a hands-on training in finding specific types of translations (literary and non-literary, published and unpublished) in selected physical and digital archives. The main goal is to provide different bibliographical sources and make participants aware of their limitations and potentialities. Target audience: postgraduate students and early-stage researchers in Translation Studies and neighbouring disciplines.

*Hanna Pięta holds a PhD in Translation History from the University of Lisbon. She is a ULICES/CEAUL researcher and has participated in a number of (inter)national research projects, including Intercultural Literature in Portugal and The EST Glossary. Her research interests include translation history, indirect translation and terminology in Translation Studies.

*Marta Pacheco Pinto holds a PhD in Translation History (2013) from the University of Lisbon. She is member of the Centre for Comparative Studies (UL) where she collaborates in several research projects, in particular Moving Bodies: Itineraries and Narratives in Translation and TradBase. Her main research areas range from translation history to reception and intercultural studies.

*Rita Bueno Maia holds a PhD in Translation History. She is assistant professor at Universidade Europeia de Lisboa and collaborates in several research projects such as Indirect Translation in Intercultural Exchanges. She is currently starting her post-doc project The Moveable Feast: Literature in Portuguese Exile at ULICES/CEAUL.

*Zsófia Gombár has a PhD in Literature from the University of Aveiro. Currently she is a researcher of the ULICES/CEAUL. She has participated in various projects including Censura e Mecanismos de Controlo da Informação no Teatro e no Cinema and Intercultural Literature in Portugal. She is also the director of a research project on literary censorship housed at the University of West Hungary.
