Heroes have been one of the main staples of the Fantasy genre. They are brave, determined, strong, and often embark on quests to save the world against an impending Evil. However, this raises a question: what about female heroes? How are they portrayed? Do they have different characteristics and functions when compared to male heroes? In this lecture, we will delve into these topics and explore the concept of heroism, the role of women as heroes in Fantasy stories, as well as their impact and importance in contemporary culture.
