Reading with Eilís Ní Dhuibhne

Eilís Ní Dhuibhne is an Irish novelist and short story writer. She has written several collections of short stories and novels, plays, books for young people, as well as scholarly articles and literary criticism. A bi-lingual writer, she writes in both Irish and English. Shortlisted for Orange Prize for Fiction with The Dancers Dancing (2000), she received the Irish PEN Award in 2015. She has worked in the Department of Irish Folklore in University College Dublin (UCD), and for many years as a curator in the National Library of Ireland. Also a teacher of Creative Writing, she has been Writer Fellow at Trinity College, Dublin, and until recently a Writer Fellow at UCD. She is a member of Aosdána.

Eilís Ní Dhuibhne é uma romancista e contista irlandesa, tendo publicado vários romances e volumes de contos, peças de teatro e obras para a juventude, além de artigos académicos e crítica literária. Autora bilingue, escreve tanto em gaélico irlandês como em inglês. Nomeada para o Orange Prize para ficção com The Dancers Dancing (2000), foi distinguida com o Prémio PEN irlandês em 2015. Ní Dhuibhne  trabalhou no Departamento de Folclore de University College Dublin (UCD), tendo sido igualmente curadora na Biblioteca Nacional da Irlanda. Foi ainda professora de Escrita Criativa em Trinity College Dublin e em UCD. É membro da associação irlandesa de artistas, Aosdána.
