Following on initiatives of previous years organized by ULICES and dedicated to the literatures and cultures of English speaking countries like Ireland and Canada, the international conference “Life Down Under” aims at leading the University and the broader public
into direct contact with Australian literature and culture. This first Australian symposium by ULICES will feature discussions on a large number of themes and areas of knowledge directly related the arts, humanities and social sciences of Australia, so as to frame and
interpret its multiple identity and contribute to the development of its study in Portugal.
