The Translation and Reception Studies Research Group of ULICES/CEAUL invites you to the 44ETC … Translation Conversation Studies, to be held on Monday, May 13, in the CLi room (Centre of Languages of the School of Arts and Humanities, University of Lisbon), at 4h30 pm. The session is going to be presented by Mário Sequeira, who will speak about Subtitling for the deaf and deafened: accessibility in RTP.
Lesley Saunders has written seven poetry collections, most recently A Part of the Main (MulfranPress2018), co-authored with Philip Gross; the book is a response to the political and social upheavals surrounding the UK’s decision to leave the EuropeanUnion. Lesley Saunders also translates poetry and her English translations – including the poem that won the 2016 Stephen Spender award – of renowned Portuguese poet Maria Teresa Horta will be published in spring 2019 by Two Rivers Press. Lesley Saunders is a visiting professor in education policy at Newman University, Birmingham, and an honorary research fellow at Oxford University Department of Education. She will be talking and reading from her poetry on issues of home and belonging.

The meeting will be attended by Angélica Varandas (FLUL), Adelaide Meira Serras (FLUL), Carlos João Correia (FLUL), Rui Agostinho (FCUL), Rui Prada (IST-UL) and Teresa Botelho (FCSH-UNL).

This RHOSE Seminar 14 will be chaired by Zuzanna Sanches (ULICES/CEAUL) and will have the presence of the Australian author Louise Ross. Ross has a MA Psychology and Counselling, is a trained psychotherapist and the author of Women Who Walk. She has lived in the UK, France and the United States, but in 2014 moved to Portugal and is currently living in Estoril. From 2015-2017 she was president of the International Women in Portugal.
