The University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies invites you to a seminar on “The trickster: satirising whiteness in the fiction of Australian Indigenous writer Marie Munkara”, by Professor Anne Brewster, which will take place at the Faculty of Letters, University of Lisbon, Instituto de Cultura Americana, on Monday, 2 December, from 10h30 a.m. till 12h00.

Professor Brewster is an expert on Australian indigenous literature and on whiteness studies and is the author of Literary Formations: Postcoloniality, Nationalism, Globalism (1995) and Aboriginal Women’s Autobiography (1996), among other publications. She is also a co-editor of Those who remain will always remember: an anthology of Aboriginal Writing (2000). Professor Brewster is Associate Professor of the School of English, Media and the Performing Arts at the University of New South Wales, and is currently guest professor in Australian studies at the University of Copenhagen.
