Roundtable | The University — How we would like it to be(at)
The roundtable “The University – How We Would Like It to Be(at)” proposes a discussion and reflection on the university from different perspectives, taking as its starting point the publication A Universidade como Deve Ser (“The University as It Should Be”), authored by two faculty members of FLUL. To take part in this roundtable, we have invited the Beat Generation poet Anne Waldman, director and cofounder of Naropa University (USA), which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and presents itself as the “only Buddhist-inspired university in the West.” She will be joined by Seth Perlow (Georgetown University), Mário Avelar (Director of the LACM Graduate Programmes/FLUL), and students from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon. The session will be moderated by Adelaide Meira Serras, former director of the Centre for English Studies at the University of Lisbon (CEAUL).
