Overall description: Cascais, Crossroads of the Arts, is a research unit within the School of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon, established by the D. Luís I Foundation. It organizes several initiatives – such as conferences, exhibitions, and publications – that arise from a collaboration between the Municipality of Cascais and various institutions. Its partnership with ULICES is centered on three key actions: (1) a permanent open seminar focused on notable works of fiction and non-fiction, featuring contributions from ULICES researchers; (2) the publication of an online journal showcasing essays by both established scholars and emerging PhD researchers; and (3) a scholarship program that financially supports projects exploring the relationship between Portuguese and other cultures, namely English and American culture, with a special emphasis on interarts connections.
