Overall description: Organized by the University of Lisbon Centre for English Studies, the American Corner, and the School of Arts and Humanities, in partnership with the Goethe Institut, the School of Arts and Humanities Film Festival aims to promote the creation and exhibition of short films within and beyond the university. This second edition encourages students to produce their films, sparking imagination and reflection on cinematic themes. Selected students collaborate with a film director to develop projects centered on the transatlantic relationship between Portugal and the United States, under the theme “Cinema and Humanity”. This initiative nurtures creativity, stimulates independent work, and strengthens students’ connections with civil society. By providing a platform for students to express their ideas, explore storytelling, and engage with social and cultural issues, the festival fosters critical thinking and collaboration. Furthermore, partnerships with institutions like the Goethe Institut allow these student works to reach a wider audience.
